Mount Muhavura is also known as Mount Muhabura, deriving its name Muhabura from a local language, Kinyarwanda/Rufumbira, which means “The Guide”, so shall we be guided and amazed by this iconic standing landform, “The Guide” phrase was a symbol to syndicate Mount Muhavura historical use of the mountain to offer navigation to the natives.

This is one of the eight volcanoes known as the virunga Ranges. It is an extinct volcano and lies on the border between Rwanda and Uganda.
